So, most photographers I know love shooting the couple hours before sunset. It's pretty and all, but let me make a case for my favorite light in the world - the first morning light. Sure, getting up at 5 in the morning to start a shoot at 6 on your day off sucks. BUT my argument is this: look at the light in Jenny + Justin's photos. Seriously, you can see it, can't you? I'm talking to you - yes, you. You, who has a shoot scheduled with us this summer? Yes, you. I know you were planning for doing your shoot in the evening, but two more arguments, then I'm gonna turn things over to Jenny + Justin's adorable-ness. 1. You don't have to wait around all day for your shoot (or have your shoot in the middle of your day, thus ruining your plans). This is especially big if you're terrified of getting your photos taken. You get it over with, go out to breakfast and have the whole rest of your day. 2. No one else is awake yet, which is also big if you're terrified of people SEEING you get your photos taken. Anyway, just something that needed saying, because as much of a light-snob as it makes me, I really do think that first morning light is the prettiest. (Also, later in the summer and fall, the start time only gets later, so it's not always so early! :)

Anyway, on to Jenny + Justin - they were willing to meet up with us at 6 a.m., and I'm so happy they did. (see: above) I'm just in love with this set of photos, and basically all I can say about our shoot is that these two are an incredible amount of fun and pretty much are our personality dopplegangers.

I was going to agree with you or something and then I was like, "WHAT THE HELL IS THAT BELOW??" And then I realized that you'd written something on a photo so small you would have to be Reche freaking Caldwell to see it. But then I saw it and I laughed again. Because sometimes you're just having some photos taken in the woods, minding your own business, getting close, feeling the love, and then you choke a little on your fiancée's hair.

Good times.

And this shoot is exactly what we strive for every time. Relaxed, fun and joking the whole way through. You guys were awesome and a lot of fun and, yeah, thanks a lot for the morning!

Sorry - it was a lot bigger before I half-sized it for the blog :/ ah well. Yeah - guys, you were amazing, and I seriously cannot wait for the wedding... though you have to promise not to look in Rich's camera bag. I know him far too well. :)

So, it's summer! Officially! I know, it's been summer for about three months now, but we're officially into our go-go-go season, and, so far, it's been amazing. AND I have it on good authority (mine!), it's only going to get more spectacular. Between shooting seriously cool and adorable couples and families, we're squeezing in some family summer time, and as much as I'm a girl who lives in WNY for our falls and winters (as I'm afraid of that big ball of firey death), this summer has already been fantastic. Talk to me again in August and I'll probably be trying to convince Rich to move to Alaska, but right now, things are perfect.

One of the places we've already been to a handful of times this summer is the always fun Knox Farm, but when Amy + Steve's shoot came around, we realized we hadn't shot there yet this year! Which is crazy, since it's a favorite place for us to play, so A+S, being super cool, let us drag them out there for their e-shoot.

We actually got over to a couple parts of Knox Farm I'd never even seen before, back where the Knox family had their "summer home." And stables, and tennis court and swimming pool and...you get the idea - they had some serious money. And you've been telling me how maybe, someday, they'll open up part of the grounds for events (i.e. weddings). Count me in for that, because there are so many places to shoot and the old house is really beautiful. I could see some wedding photos there for sure.
