anne-marie + john

So, we're finally into winter weddings!! Anne-Marie + John had a great winter theme going on, and the weather even cooperated and busted out some snow for their awesome wedding day. I started out with Anne-Marie and her awesome bridal party at the Hyatt, and the minute I saw her shoes, I lost it a little. Seriously. Fun. Shoes!!
And absolutely perfect flowers...
And our absolutely perfect bride! When we got together with Anne-Marie + John for their e-shoot, we really had a pretty amazing time. They are both super fun, funny and we knew they'd have an unbelievable group of people with them for their day. And it was one absolutely awesome wedding party!
I really don't know what it is with getting in the limo, but more than any other time, that seems to be where the emotion comes to the surface. It's funny - all day Anne-Marie would get teary eyed and then she'd blame Christmas carols playing. Not that she was marrying John had anything to do with it!
The dudes were just abiding and hanging out - you know, guy stuff. It's impossible not to like John pretty much instantly. He's that guy you want to have a beer with, or date your sister or go to a tailgate party with, etc. Just a good dude! That's John there, up front. Murphy was like, "Is that daddy?" as you were uploading these a little while ago. Apparently, Murphy thinks all bald men with facial hair look the same.
Dude, this shot is so oddball and quirky, hon. I love it.
Thanks :) So, A+J got married at the Karpeles Manuscript Library, which we'd never shot in before, but it was a really cool space for a wedding.
Heck yeah! You walk in there and the first thing you see is they have an original copy of Wagner's wedding march - kindof apropos, right?

So, how rad is it to have one of your groomsmen also double up duty as your minister??
That is really pretty awesome. So, the manuscript library used to be a church, so it still has a similar set up. Anne-Marie and her dad just walked through some historic manuscripts prior to walking down the aisle :)
Coming up the aisle, all I could see were those super cool glasses at the display out front. Just a different perspective...
We headed over to the Albright-Knox for some photos, and I have to give so many major props to all the girls in this shot for not looking frozen. I was in a heavy sweater and still pretty cold. I think Anne-Marie's happiness was pretty contagious, but I also think you (Anne-Marie) had an amazing bridal party to rock outdoor shots without complaint in winter. You guys are awesome!
Oh, no doubt. A bad party or one full of people who don't mix all that well can be a wedding day disaster. Get it just right, though - and you get an amazing time. I laughed a LOT all day long.
Love this, babe. Love it.
So, we let the kids get back in the bus to warm up and kept Anne-Marie + John for a few more shots.
I loved all these - out in the snow = rad as hell.
I like it when our "direction" for a couple turns out to be, " Hey, go stand over there." All we have to do is watch them being happy and put that in context. Makes life really good, even when it's super cold outside. Hey - hold on a sec. Did I mention this post yet about how I secretly suspect Anne-Marie is a friggin' rocket scientist?? Like, she's a scientist and her company does things with rockets. Wicked smart, people. Well played, Big John, well played...
I would have posted some wistful shots, but these two just constantly are laughing. I absolutely adore that about them. And I think that's the best thing ever for your marriage. Rich has gotten away with a boatload in this life because he can make me laugh!
So, we had a small "detour" that I have some really great photos of - but I'll go ahead and skip to a quick shot I did down at Buffalo City Hall before we went to Pearl Street for the reception. Props to the impressive light-holding skills of best man Mathis. Some shots are just kindof classic and I'm glad we stopped for a couple frames :).
Rings and candy canes, ftw!
Love it. We definitely got some strange looks doing that :) I love it though. Nothing makes more sense for a winter wedding! Anne-Marie's come hither to start their dance! Love it!!
I love Pearl Street wedding receptions so much :)
Still laughing :)
Now hold VERY STILL :)
I love that guy ^. Seriously, cell-phone camera guy, every time I turned around you grabbed someone else and got them on the dance floor! For that, sir, you are awesome! Anne-Marie ditched her shoes just about immediately after her dance with her dad :)
Love this :) The groomsmen took a cigar break out on the balcony over looking the city.
And right about then you came over to me clapping - why? Because you found two mirrors next to each other - that happened to be tall and short, respectively :).
Where else can your hockey sweater double as formal attire when the team's in town?? I love Buffalo.
We met one of the guy's in charge of WNYPhoto Booths at the reception. NICE photo booths if you're looking into one.

Anyway - we're about to crash hard for the night after a long day - but these photos and the day make us super happy. Anne-marie and John, we seriously love you guys. Hurry up and move back up herer, okay? Okay. I swear it's not REALLY gusting snow at 60mph right now ;)
