October 22, 2010 - Portraits
aimee + dustin + pascal + jasper
Round two for your Friday-evening bloggification - meet an adorable family :). We shuffled off down to Fredonia this past week, and if you thought we were stressed out about writing about an English teacher last week, we have some double-stress since BOTH these awesome parents are English professors. Great. Oh, and Aimee is a well-known poet. Guys, remember - red pen does NOT come off of MacBook screens, okay? Okay. Let's go.
I was super nervous on our way down - the leaves in the city are rad, but about halfway down the 90, all the trees were bare. We lucked out, though - Fredonia was in gorgeous fall mode. Of course, though - it ended up being one of the colder days, which is never my favorite for shooting extra small folks, but Jasper rocked it (well, he slept a lot). And like all toddlers, Pascal couldn't have cared less that it was cold - he was getting to run around one of his favorite playgrounds; Aimee + Dustin's campus. Seriously, every time he saw a ramp, he veered off toward it. :) I get it, though - I remember ramps being fun, and I was definitely not 3!
Murphy just looked at this photo and asked, "Is that me?" Hah - close pal, but not quite. We ran and ran and ran. I love families. I may not always photograph weddings - we know we have a shelf-life there - but I'd like to think I'll always photograph families. This is my favorite thing to do.
Great grab! And I like that I managed to get in one of the photos (the one in gray!) :) I'm just much slower than you these days :) Pascal is one of the most smiley kids we've ever shot. He was so much fun to hang out with!
And he clearly took to you :)
Psshh - duh, I'm way awesome. Ask any toddler and they'll totally confirm this. It's a dad thing - we just kick ass at tickling and running and playing ball and tucking in. Case in point.
I'm gonna wager Pascal napped pretty hard after we left. He must've sprinted for a straight two hours.
Wait - I take that back :)
cuuuuuute. I got to hold Jasper at one point during the shoot and man, I almost ovulated. I really can't wait to have another baby. Also, it helps that you guys make AMAZINGLY beautiful children!
I loved that you grabbed this between random college kids sprinting down the stairs for some random scavenger hunt and still got such a great grab of everyone!
Guys - thank you so much for having us down to hang out with your fantastic family. You were amazing, and Pascal + Jasper are two of the most adorable boys I've ever met!
